The 2013 Southeast Iowa 4-H Intermediate Clothing Event was held on Aug. 2 at the Coralville Public Library. 4-H members from across Southeast Iowa traveled to Coralville to participate in this hands-on learning workshop and style show. Participants from Appanoose County were Courtney Ballanger of the Exline Ramblers 4-H Club, Alienna Boecker of the Wells Rustlers 4-H Club and Jessica Wood of the Pleasant Workers 4-H Club.
The afternoon was filled with clothing and fashion workshops presented by Ann Thye, Academic Advisor and Career Specialist for Apparel Merchandising and Design at Iowa State University and Shelby Schaefer, Iowa State University Student. Youth learned about how designers create new clothing lines, created mood boards, discovered where clothing items were made, watched the 2013 Iowa State University Fashion Show and participated in their own style show modeling clothing exhibits from their county clothing events.
