UPDATE 11:42 p.m.: Customers without power now below 1,000

CENTERVILLE — UPDATE 11:42 p.m.: Alliant Energy reports there are only 304 customers without power from a Sunday evening storm. That moves the total number in the coverage area to 931. The storm has moved out of the area for the most part.


UPDATE 11 p.m.: The Centerville Fire Department is responding to a report of a downed power line on fire on South Main Street in Centerville.


UPDATE 10:39 p.m.: Alliant Energy says just 376 customers are without power in Appanoose County now. 627 remain without power in Wayne. The total number without power in the Iowegian's coverage area is 1,003


UPDATE 10:30 p.m.: Power has been restored to 340 customers in Appanoose County, according to Alliant Energy. There are now 526 customers without power in Appanoose, and 627 in Wayne, bringing the current total to 1,153 in the Iowegian coverage area.


UPDATE 10:21 p.m.: The Storm Prediction Center has a preliminary wind report saying a gust of 67 mph was felt in the Cincinnati area. A tree was blown down blocking highway 5. The tree has been reportedly cleared and was no longer blocking the roadway.


UPDATE 10:17 p.m.: Updated numbers from Alliant Energy say there are 866 without power in Appanoose County. There is 627 reported out in Wayne County, bringing the total out to 1,493 in the Iowegian coverage area. The National Weather Service reports wind gusts in the area reached 47 mph around 9 p.m.


UPDATE 9:43 p.m.: Reports of a transformer town on North 2nd Street in Mystic. Reports of trees down on West Wall Street in Centerville.


UPDATE, 9:39 p.m.: Alliant Energy has updated the number of customers out in Appanoose County to 709.


Severe storms moving through the area have already caused 700 to lose their power.

Alliant Energy is reporting that there are 627 customers without power in Wayne county and another 87 are without power in Appanoose.

The National Weather Service issued a brief tornado warning, that expired at 9 p.m. Sunday, after radar indicated a developing tornado near Seymour.

There are several reports of trees and powerlines down.
