Concert band, concert choir host Pops Concert

CENTERVILLE — The concert band and concert choir from Centerville High School performed in Simon Estes Auditorium Monday night, for their annual Pops Concert.

The CHS concert band opened the program, performing six songs: "Give My Regards to Broadway" by Cohan/Chris Sharp, "Dillon's Fight" by Ralph Ford, "The Avengers" by Alan Silvestri/Michael Brown, "West Side Story" by Bernstein/Bocook, "The Phantom Of The Opera" by A.L. Webber/Sweeney and "Goddess Of Fire" by Steven Reineke.

The CHS concert choir ended the event, singing several songs from movie blockbusters, with music from the movies Annie, Enchanted, Nine to Five, O' Brother Where Art Thou?, Sister Act, Shrek, Shrek 2, Twilight, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, The Bodyguard, Titanic, Working Girl, Slumdog Millionaire and Les Misérables.

The CHS jazz band will be hosting their "Jazz-N-Java" event tonight from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church.
