CENTERVILLE — Rick Lynch, the Davis County attorney who filled in while Richard Scott, the Appanoose County attorney, was temporarily suspended, submitted a bill for his services to the Appanoose County Board of Supervisors.

The three-member board Monday, June 11 voted unanimously to pay the Lynch Law Firm $16,427.50. The Lynch bill was for 106 hours at $175 per hour for Lynch's time and $125 per hour for his assistant's time.

The board's vote to pay the bill stipulated the money would come from the Appanoose County attorney's budget for this and the 2013 fiscal year budget.

The board voted unanimously to retain Lynch in a supervisory capacity through Aug. 30 with the money coming out of the county attorney's budget.

Scott's law license was temporarily suspended by the Iowa Supreme Court May 2 after the Attorney Disciplinary Board filed a petition for interim disability. The court reinstated Scott's license May 30.
