Events for students, retired employees and community members as well as alumni will be included in Indian Hills Community College’s annual Homecoming celebration, Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
There will be activities such as a game show, casino night and a volleyball tournament for students. A Homecoming king and queen will be voted on by everyone at the college with the coronation at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
That evening, a 5K race/walk will be held with the proceeds used for student scholarships. New races for children have been added this year with the courses located on IHCC’s Ottumwa campus.
A reception for alumni who attended Centerville Junior College, Centerville Community College or Indian Hills Community College is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 5 at the Hotel Continental in Centerville from 4-7 p.m.
The week will conclude with a host of activities on Saturday, Oct. 6, starting with IHCC representation in the annual Ottumwa Oktoberfest parade. On the Ottumwa campus that afternoon there will be a car show from 12-4 p.m., a free children’s carnival and craft fair from 1-3 p.m., and reunions for Indian Hill's alumni in the Computer Programming and Nursing programs. Both will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Computer Programming reunion in Warrior Junction in the Advanced Technology Center and the Nursing event in the Rural Health Education Center.
In addition, the Indian Hills soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball teams all have home contests scheduled during the week.
