CENTERVILLE — The Centerville City Council during a special meeting Tuesday at City Hall passed a resolution declaring their intent to appoint an individual to fill the vacant position of mayor.
Residents interested in consideration for the vacant mayor position have until Friday, Aug. 23 to submit a letter of interest to City Hall.
The City Council will interview the applicants on Monday, Aug. 26.
The plan is for the council to make the mayor appointment at their first regular meeting in September.
The person chosen will serve as mayor until the November election. Then whoever wins the November election for mayor will be sworn in immediately as Centerville's new mayor.
