The Centerville Concert Association recently received a donation from Iowa Trust and Savings Bank to help fund their upcoming season. The group also recently kicked off its membership drive for the 2013-2014 season. Season tickets will provide entry to five local concerts and 15 additional performances in Ottumwa, Washington and Fairfield.
The cost for a season pass is $35 for an adult, $10 for a student and $75 for a family. Tickets at the door cost $15 per show. The membership drive will run through Sept. 12. Anyone interested in purchasing a membership is encouraged to to do so at Owl Pharmacy or J&K Market on the Centerville square.
For the upcoming season, Centerville shows will include: The Unexpected Surfer Boys, a tribute to The Beach Boys and Broadway on Sunday, Oct. 6 with a matinee performance at 3 p.m.; Sons Of The Pioneers, a legendary Cowboy/Western group on Monday, Nov. 4; New Century Saxophone Quartet on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m.; Albia Community Choir on Sunday, April 6 with a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. and Mack Bailey, folk singer/songwriter from The Limelighters on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. All local performances take place in Simon Estes Auditorium.
The Centerville Concert Association is a non-profit organization and all revenues go towards artist fees, administrative and technical concert costs. The Association appreciates all the support the area has shown over the years as they continue their goal of providing entertainment and education for everyone regardless of age. The concert series benefits not only individuals attending but the community’s image as a whole.
