Marybeth Heikes’ collages, “Road Trip #1” and “Road Trip #2” were accepted in the annual Midwest National Abstract Art Exhibition IX. This show will be held at The Garfield Park Arts Center in Indianapolis.
The show, sponsored by the Southside Art League, opens Sept. 28 and continues through Oct. 26 and is a yearly event open to all artists in the U.S. All media is welcome, but has to be original and completed within the last three years. It is free and open to the public.
Heikes, of Centerville, initiated this technique in 1995, beginning with hand-painting her paper with acrylics and using a loose, contour pencil design as a starting point. She has completed compositions in most every subject matter, which includes commissioned artwork. More of her artwork can be seen by visiting her studio by appointment or her website: www.mheikes.com. Prints and notecards are also available both online and in her studio.
