The Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office has released crash reports from two injury accidents that occurred Thursday, Nov. 7.
The first occurred at approximately 5:57 a.m. Tyler Wayne Shanahan, 19, of Centerville, was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital. The report says that Shanahan fell asleep and his vehicle went into the north ditch of the road near 138th Avenue on Highway J46, west of Numa.
The second accident occurred at approximately 1:43 p.m. Jada J. Belloma, 27, of Centerville, was taken to the hospital in an accident that also injured a passenger, identified in the report as Makenna Jean Pershy, 18, of Centerville.
The accident occurred near the intersection of 180th Avenue and 535th Street.
According to the accident report, Belloma crossed the bridge on 180th Avenue southbound and hit some small potholes in the roadway and took evasive action by oversteering to the left and losing control. The report states that the pot holes were not large enough to cause the vehicle to leave the roadway, and that the driver’s oversteering caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
There were no charges filed against either driver in the two, separate accidents.
