Centerville High School students from Elizebeth Gaskins principles of horticulture class have been studying horticulture therapy.
As a class assignment they had to plan and implement a therapy project. The students chose to put on their project with the New Focus clients. They helped approximately 34 clients from New Focus decorate pots and plant flowers.
The students involved were Katie Morris, Branson Bachman, Garrett Buban, John Lawhon and Achilles Wiese. They put on their program on April 4 from 9 a.m. until approximately 10:45 a.m.
The students thanked the staff at New Focus for allowing them to put on their project and for helping them decorate the pots. They also thanked Frank Reznicek for his continued support of the Centerville FFA chapter. The horticulture students rake Reznicek's yard each fall and spring in return for a very nice donation. That money made this therapy project possible.
