The spring term at Indian Hills Community College will be capped with a special student ceremony and graduation at the IHCC Centerville campus Wednesday.
At 4 p.m. a reception will be held for those voted the outstanding students on the Centerville campus. Around a dozen students annually are recognized for their contributions to the college. A program and reception will be held from 4-5 p.m. in building 15/16.
The 83rd annual graduation ceremony will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Multipurpose Building with more than 100 students slated to receive their degrees and diplomas. The speaker for the commencement ceremony will be Amy Sinclair, who represents District 14 in the Iowa State Senate.
Sinclair, a former member of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, is currently the ranking member of the Senate Local Government Committee. She has an extensive list of public service and community involvement projects.
Indian Hills will have the commencement ceremony for the Ottumwa campus on Thursday night this week at 7 p.m. in the Hellyer Student Life Center. The speaker will be Iowa United States Congressman Dave Loebsack.
