Country band Black Diamond to entertain at Friday Night Live

CENTERVILLE — Friday Night Live "Sounds and Suds on the Square" will feature Black Diamond this Friday from 6-10 p.m. Enjoy live music, beer garden and food.

There will also be bouncy houses and other activities for kids.

Admission is just $3 for adults.

Strange Dreams will perform Aug. 27 and Standing Hampton on Sept. 24.

Friday Night Live is scheduled on the Centerville Square on the last Friday of each month from June through September.  The event is sponsored by the Appanoose County Tourism Committee, Manhattan Golf Club-Trophies Sports Bar, Hall Engineering Company,  J & K Market, KCOG-KMGO, Buffy’s Dance Department,  Cook Insurance/Sales & Associates, HyVee, Curwood Inc, Craver Law Office, Iowa Trust and Fogle Construction.

Since their inception in 1990, Black Diamond has established themselves as one of the premiere bands in Midwest country music history. Over the course of their stellar career, Black Diamond has shared the stage with countless country stars, gained icon status, with their 10 years of continuous performances at the Iowa State Fair, entertained hundreds of thousands of the Midwest’s greatest country music listeners and have become one of the “Top Draw” acts in the Midwest. Black Diamond is a group of professional and very talented musicians. Here is a different look at country music with a personal style. The band has a fresh appeal to their audiences, a twist to their songs and an excellent method of performance.

Throughout the years, the band has consisted of many talented musicians. Currently, Black Diamond includes John Shockley on keyboards/guitar/saxophone/vocals, Jan Warwick on bass/harmonica/vocals, Robbie Young on guitar/keyboards/vocals, Lauren Brown on guitar/keyboards/vocals and Mark Postl on drums/vocals. The fun and camaraderie on stage is captured in the music and their performances always provide a crowd-pleasing show!
