CENTERVILLE — According to the Centerville Police Department, on Thursday, Jan. 3 the Centerville Police Department arrested and charged Timothy Dean Butler, 38, of Centerville, with six counts of lascivious acts with a child, each count being a class C felony; six counts of incest, each count being a class D felony; and six counts of child endangerment, each count being an aggravated misdemeanor.

The charges stem from an investigation that began on Dec. 23, 2012 by the Centerville Police Department. During the investigation officers learned that the defendant had at least six illegal sexual contacts with his minor child between Nov. 1, 2012 and Dec. 29, 2012.

Butler is currently being held in the Appanoose County Jail with a bail set at $21,000 cash only.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
