On Monday, July 22 at approximately 8:20 p.m. the Centerville Police Department received a 911 call of a building on fire at the Morgan Cline Park (Centerville City Park), according to a press release issued by the Centerville Fire Department Wednesday.
Emergency crews were immediately dispatched and upon arrival reported a storage shed completely engulfed in fire. Fire crews began a defensive fire attack and were quickly able to bring the fire under control.
Once the fire was extinguished an investigation was initiated along with the Centerville Police Department to determine a cause of the fire. The cause of the fire is undetermined and the investigation is ongoing at this time. The storage building, which was owned by the city of Centerville, was used to store various pieces of maintenance equipment used by the city. The building and it’s contents are considered a total loss.
The Centerville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Centerville Police Department and Mercy Ambulance Service.
