Millerton man arrested, accused of meth crime

CORYDON — On Wednesday, Feb. 20 the Wayne County Sheriff’s office arrested James Dale Sears, 69, of Millerton after the execution of a search warrant at his residence located at 4 Highway J22 in Millerton, according to a press release issued by the Wayne County Sheriff's office.

During the execution of the search warrant law enforcement located items consistent with the illegal sale and distribution of methamphetamine to include, but not limited to, methamphetamine, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.

Sears was charged with possession with the intent to deliver less than five grams of a schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class C felony.

Sears is being held at the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.    

Assisting the Wayne County Sheriff’s office in this investigation were the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the South Central Iowa Drug Task Force and the Wayne County Attorney’s office

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
