Mitten Trees can be found at various locations

CENTERVILLE — Mitten trees for the 2012 Operation Santa program went up in the area this past week-end. Mitten trees can be found at the following locations:  B and K Machining, Barker and Co., Wells Manufacturing, C&C Machining, Alliant Energy Call Center, Lee Container Corp., First Methodist Church, Faith United Methodist Church, Mercy Hospital, St. Mary’s Church and Wal-Mart.

You can choose one or more of the paper mittens which contains the sex, age and size of a child. The identity of all those who sign up for Operation Santa is kept confidential. Wrapped gifts are to be returned to the location where the mitten was obtained by Sunday, Dec. 9. Be sure the mitten is securely attached to your wrapped gift and the contents of each package are marked on back side of mittens. This mitten is needed to make sure the gift reaches the child for which it was intended.   

Once again contributions of good used coats are being accepted. These items can be taken to The Shoe Tree and will be distributed to those who need them.

Distribution of gifts will be on Friday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. until noon at the old Mr. Movies building in the mall. Volunteers are needed during the week before distribution day. If you can give some time, contact the hotline at (641) 437-3450 and leave a message and a committee member will return your call.
