One item on the agenda for tonight’s Centerville City Council meeting that goes into some detail is the itinerary for the search for a city administrator.
Tonight’s council meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Five candidates are in the running for the job: Patrick Antonen, Darrel Steven Carlyle, Joe Gaa, Chelsea Huisman and Alan Johnson.
The itinerary for the search for a city administrator starts on Friday, June 21.
Lunch at City Hall with the candidates and city staff will be followed by a tour of the town and surrounding area aboard the trolley hosted by Bill Buss and Nancy Huisman.
By now it’s about 2:15 p.m. and the mayor and council members will meet one-on-one with the candidates at City Hall. That will be followed by a public “Meet & Greet” reception from 6-8 p.m. at Porter Hall, 706 Drake Ave.
The itinerary picks up on Saturday, June 22 at 8 a.m. for a candidates, council, city staff and consultants meeting in the lobby of the Continental Hotel.
Then from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. the candidates will interview individually with the council, department heads and community leaders at three locations on the Centerville Square: 307 N. 13th St. Suite 500, 101 W. Van Buren and 308 N. 12th St.
Then from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday the council, city department heads and community leaders are to meet at City Hall to discuss the selection of a city administrator.
Tonight’s agenda has the council adjourning to meet again at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 for a special meeting. The time for that special council meeting is actually 12 p.m. at City Hall.
