Supervisors approve budget amendments

CENTERVILLE — The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Jan. 2 at 9 a.m. in the Courthouse boardroom. Dean Kaster and Jody McDanel were present and Neal Smith was absent.

The board voted to appoint Kaster as chairman and McDanel as vice-chair.

The board voted to set the meeting dates for the first and third Mondays of the month.

The board voted to set legal holidays: Feb. 18, May 27, July 4, Sept. 2, Nov. 11, Nov. 28 and 29, Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. l.

The board voted to approve Ad-Express/Daily Iowegian and Moravia Union as legal publications.

The board voted to approve deputy appointments for Todd Craver, Harold Burke, Keith Glosser, Dennis Daniels, Charles Carter, Jonathon Printy and David "Wade" Duley as deputy sheriffs and Pam Kluxdal-Wells and Deborah Harris as deputy auditors.

The board voted to approve amendments to the county budget and secondary road IDOT budget amendment and construction program.

The budget amendments for fiscal year ending June 30 increase mental health, MR and DD expenditures by $1,202,000 and roads and transportation expenditures by $696,956.

The board voted to approve Construction Evaluation Resolution or Master Matrix.

The Appanoose County Board of Health hired Heather Lear, RN, for 21 hours per week at $17 per hour.
