---- — The Stitchn’ Bee Needlework members would like to invite the public to the Needlework Show at Iowa Trust on Oct. 10-12 during regular banking hours.
Entries this year must be smaller than 11x14 and all needlework entries will be for display only. They can be dropped off at Iowa Trust Wednesday after 1 p.m.
Attendees can also sign up for $100 from Iowa Trust and for door prizes from the Stitchn’ Bee members. Drawings will be held on Saturday morning and winners will be contacted.
The first needlework show was held in 1995 by the Chamber of Commerce and until 2001, the show was displayed in various businesses. The show had been held at U.S. Bank (Hawkeye Bank, Mercantile Bank) for several years, Elegant Edges and Bradley Hall. In the fall of 1997, several ladies thought there should be a gathering of ladies to just get together and cross stitch. In 2001, the Stitchn’ Bee was formed to learn new stitches and explore new avenues in cross stitch.
In 2001 the needlework show was displayed at Iowa Trust and Savings Bank where we have been invited to return every year after that.
The public is invited to view the show during regular banking hours.
The Stitchn’ Bee members gather on the fourth Saturday of the month at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Centerville from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and new members are welcome. Contact Stacey Brown at (641) 895-1771 or Marie Main at (641) 436-0118 if you would like more information.
