On Monday, March 25 at approximately 7:17 p.m. Christopher Michael Brown, 39, of Cincinnati, was arrested in the 200 block of North Forrest Street, Cincinnati. Brown was arrested for the charge of attempt to commit murder, a class “B” felony and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
The attempt to commit murder charge stems from an altercation that occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Friday, March 22 in the 1500 block of West Van Buren Street in Centerville. During the altercation Brown did display a knife while informing the victim that he was going to kill him. Brown attacked the victim and cut the left side of the victim’s neck, causing injury. The attack was stopped by bystanders and Brown left the area.
At the time of his arrest Brown was found to be in possession of a marijuana smoking pipe which resulted in the possession of drug paraphernalia charge.
Brown is currently being held in the Appanoose County Jail with no bond pending his initial appearance with the Appanoose County magistrate.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
