---- — All Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program members since Nov. 1 have seen a reduction in monthly benefits. SNAP gives millions of Americans who qualify food assistance.

SNAP recipients can have a cash register associate check the balance or call the telephone number on the back of the Electronic Benefit Transfer SNAP card or call the United States Department of Agriculture SNAP information line at (800) 221-5689.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 temporarily increased SNAP benefits. The ARRA’s temporary increase expired Oct. 31, 2013.
