OTTUMWA — Nominations are being sought for possible inductees into the Indian Hills Community College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Indian Hills this year will induct its third group of individuals who were key contributors to the outstanding athletic tradition at the college, dating back to the days of Centerville Junior College.
The HOF was established in 2011 to honor athletes, teams, coaches and other individuals and, to date, 13 former athletes and coaches have been inducted.
Those nominated could be players who had a significant part in the success Indian Hills teams have had through the years, coaches who made a difference in the lives of their athletes, or others who have had a profound impact on the athletic program. Athletes and coaches are eligible for selection to the Hall of Fame after five years have passed since they last competed or coached at IHCC.
It is the hope of the selection committee that nominees will include individuals or teams from all eras and all sports who achieved excellence on the Indian Hills Ottumwa or Centerville campuses.
Nomination forms are currently available at www.indianhills.edu/halloffame. A list of eligibility guidelines can be viewed there. The nomination forms can also be obtained by calling the IHCC Alumni Office at (641) 683-5302. The deadline to return the forms is Nov. 21.
A nine-member selection committee will meet in December to determine the third class of inductees.
The induction ceremony will take place at halftime of Indian Hills’ Feb. 23 home basketball game with Marshalltown CC.
