The report lists 2014 expenses at $129,000 distributed among 28 different categories. The top five anticipated expenses for 2014 include $14,300 for Pancake Day; $13,000 for advertising; $10,000 for county conservation for the cabins at Lelah Bradley park; $10,000 for Iowa State Design Lab; and $8,400 for the Wine Festival.
There are nine Tourism Committee members and include chamber appointees Mark Lechtenberg, Russ Ocker and Lynette Cisler; Centerville appointees Paula Mitchell, Dale Sales and Rob Lind; and Appanoose County appointees Rick Kauzlarich, Jody McDanel and Brian Lindberg.
The committee's mission is to "overseeing the distribution of the Hotel-Motel Tax funds under the direction of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and in accordance with the agreements with the City of Centerville and Appanoose County."
The Tourism Committee approves tourism expenses and provides direction to the Chamber to coordinate tourism activities.
