NUMA — One subject was taken to a Des Moines hospital by air ambulance Thursday morning after a single car accident just west of Numa on Highway J46.
The accident was reported around 6 a.m. Thursday morning near the intersection of 168th Avenue and Highway J46. The Mercy Air Ambulance left the scene en route to Des Moines at approximately 7:11 a.m. The highway was reopened to traffic shortly before 8 a.m.
Scanner traffic indicated that there was one subject trapped in the vehicle complaining of neck injuries.
The identity and condition of the subject involved has not yet been released by authorities. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Assisting at the scene was the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office, Centerville Police Department, Centerville Fire Department, Mercy Ambulance, Seymour First Responders, Seymour Volunteer Fire Department and Mercy Air Ambulance.
