Supervisors table Appanoose County Compensation Board recommended pay increases

CENTERVILLE — The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors Monday morning in regular session tabled the Appanoose County Compensation Board recommendations.

ACCB met Nov. 20 and voted to approve pay increases for the office of auditor, recorder and treasurer by 4 percent, Board of Supervisors by 4 percent with an additional $500 going to the chairman, sheriff by 3.4 percent and county attorney by 2.8 percent.

Board Chairman Dean Kaster said they weren't ready to make a decision on the recommendations because they didn't have sufficient time prior to the meeting to look at the numbers.

The board voted to approve a federal-aid agreement for a bridge on Dewey Road. The estimated cost for the project is $350,000.

The board voted to approve a project application for the authority's state cost share funds from Southern Iowa Development and Conservation Authority for repair of a culvert in the Moulton watershed. The estimated cost for the project is $35,000.

The board approved liquor licenses for Dogg's RV and Louies Lakeside Bistro.

The board voted 2-0 to hire Johnny Shanahan as road foreman for Secondary Road Department effective Dec. 17 at $44,000 beginning wage. Supervisor Linda Rouse voted present.    

The board passed a resolution to approve the sale of land in Moravia to Jacqueline A. White and Rick C. Harper for $5 plus one year's taxes, cost of recording the deed and publication of public hearing notice.
