AC Supervisors approve wind tower on local property

CENTERVILLE — The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors Monday in regular session in the boardroom voted 3-0 to approve a wind tower on the Jim Milani farm.

After a short recess, the board reconvened at l0 a.m. so Diane Gawronski, executive director of Ottumwa Transit and 10-15 Transit, could discuss with the board the l0-15 rates and services. The board voted 2-0, with Supervisor Linda Rouse voting present, to pass the resolution approving the by-laws and 28E agreement hiring services out of Ottumwa to administer l0-15 in Appanoose County.

The board scheduled a public hearing for July 16 at 9:15 a.m. in the Appanoose County courthouse to consider the sale of lot 6, block l in Orr's Subdivision of Main Street in Mystic because it is "no longer needed for the purpose for which it was acquired by the county, and it is in the best interest of the county that said property be sold."    

The board voted 3-0 to approve a 90-day extension of the contract with Southeast Iowa Case Management and by the same vote approved the Solutions software contract.

The board voted 3-0 to approve the appointment of James Carter to the Veteran's Affairs Commission for a three-year term expiring June 30, 2015.

The board approved 3-0 fireworks permits for Mystic, Moravia and the Appanoose County Fair and cigarette permits for Doggs RV Park LLC and Elliott's General Store Inc.
