CENTERVILLE — On Tuesday, May 10, 2011 Brian Lee Mongar, 40, of Centerville was arrested and charged with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, each count being an aggravated misdemeanor.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Centerville Police Department into the possession of child pornography by Mongar.  During the investigation officers located numerous images of children believed to be between the ages of 5 and 16 engaged in sex acts.  A search warrant was executed at Mongar’s residence located at 508 E. Mongar is currently being held in the Appanoose County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.  The case remains under investigation by the Centerville Police Department and further charges are expected.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
