The Rathbun Lake Area YMCA in Centerville is hosting a Spaghetti by Adrian meal at the Manhattan Steakhouse Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. to raise money to purchase new adult fitness equipment.
Tickets are required and cost $25 for a couple and $15 for a single to eat the meal and then enjoy entertainment with performances by Off The Square Theatre Company and Centerville High School speech and drama students.
But there’s more. How about a silent auction for a whitetail deer shoulder mount by Gary Morris Taxidermy, of Moravia and a queen size quilt made by the mother of YMCA employee Lauren Jones, which is on display at the YMCA.
But there’s more. How about a raffle. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5. Raffle items so far include two people will get five sessions of personal training with each session lasting one hour at the YMCA, one six month adult YMCA membership, two tickets for three possible dates to go to a Colorado Rockies baseball home game, free registration for two youth sports at the YMCA, a gift certificate for 10 dozen cupcakes from Lula Cakes, aka Lora Thomas-Jones, YMCA sports coordinator, valued at $100, a $100 gift card from Hy-Vee and a $100 gift card from Walmart.
“It’s a big night for the YMCA,” Jeannie Cruse, YMCA desk staff, said.
When asked about the Spaghetti by Adrian meal, Cruse said she doesn’t know him but he is said “to make the best spaghetti sauce in the country. Well, that’s what I hear, or in our area anyway.”
Adrian is Adrian Ramos, who owned Adrian’s Cafe in Centerville, which had it’s grand opening in January of 1964.
Tickets can be purchased at the YMCA, which is located at 708 S. Main St. or call the YMCA at 437-1977. You can also call Justine Heffron at 437-7298.
