The spring term at Indian Hills Community College will culminate with a special student ceremony and graduation at the IHCC Centerville campus Wednesday, May 15.
At 4 p.m. a reception will be held for the outstanding students on the Centerville campus. Around 12 students annually are recognized for their contributions to the college. The reception will be held from 4-5 p.m. in Building 15/16.
The 82nd annual graduation ceremony will be at 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Building. The speaker for the commencement ceremony will be Ann Young, vice president of Community and Staff Relations at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Young, an Indian Hills graduate, has been at the hospital for 23 years. She has initiated, developed and managed several hospital departments and services from their inception, including the Cline Family Dialysis Center, the Health Promotion/Wellness division and the hospital’s Legacies foundation, where she has raised over $4 million since it was founded in 1994.
On Thursday, a reception will be held honoring four longtime staff members at the IHCC Centerville campus will be held. Elaine Schweizer, Bill Whitaker, Becky Morrow and Paula Mitchell are all retiring this year and they will be the guests of honor at the reception which lasts from 4–6 p.m. in the Barn.
