Looking for a big tent? The old Pancake Day tent is up for sale. The Pancake Day Committee is raising money for new tents this year and the old tent needs to be disposed of.

According to Chamber director Joyce Bieber, the old tent is 110 ft by 40 ft. with sides and poles. “It’s 50 years old so there has been some patching over the years and it is in need of some additional patching. However, it is still usable as a tent or there is a lot of canvas that could be converted to other uses,” said Bieber.

Persons interested in purchasing the old tent should contact the Chamber of Commerce at 437-4102.

The large old tent will be replaced by three smaller tents. “The new tents will be easier to put up and will allow us to use them individually for other events,” said Bieber. “Our schedule of events continues to grow. The new tents will better suit our needs.”

The Pancake Day Committee is seeking donations for the new tent. Tax deductible donations are being accepted by the Appanoose County Foundation for the new tent.
