The Centerville Fire Department had been using Merriam’s Midway Shows for many years and was notified late last year that they would no longer be providing dates for the Centerville Fire Department’s annual carnival. During the winter, carnival committee members of the Centerville Fire Department conducted several inquiries to locate a replacement carnival.

The annual Centerville Fire Department carnival will be June 17 through June 23 this year. Hopefully with the later dates, weather will cooperate with warmer and dryer conditions. This year’s carnival will feature Candy Land Amusements from Cleveland, Texas. Candy Land Amusements provide carnivals for several events in Iowa including the Butler County Fair, the Benton County Fair, Clinton Riverboat Days, Solon Beef Days and the Moravia Fall Festival.

As always there will be discounted tickets available at local merchants with the wristbands being available from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Members of the Centerville Fire Department would like for everyone to come have fun and support the only annual fundraiser for the Centerville Fire Department. Monies raised during the carnival allow the volunteer fire fighters to purchase new equipment for the fire department that is not in the city budget.
