Officials with Hy-Vee Inc. announced Wednesday the purchase of Medicap Pharmacy, located at 414 N. 18th St. in Centerville. The drug store will close on Tuesday, May 20, and its prescription files will be moved to the Centerville Hy-Vee pharmacy. Refills on those prescriptions will be available on Wednesday, May 21.
Officials also announced plans to remodel the Centerville pharmacy, expanding its work space by more than 400 square feet. Plans are still in the drawing stage so a final construction timetable has not yet been finalized; however, construction is expected to begin this summer.
Tonya Graff, Centerville Hy-Vee store director, said she’s dedicated to making sure her Centerville customers are well taken care of throughout this transition and during the construction process.
“Our focus is on health and well-being of our pharmacy customers, those who have been with us for years and those who will join us now,” said Graff. “We want to make sure customers get their medication as easily as possible and get feeling better sooner.”
Graff will interview all Medicap Pharmacy employees and it is hoped that all will join the Hy-Vee family.
