Request for mission trip support

CENTERVILLE — Dear Editor,

I am taking a short leave from the wrestling mats and attacking a new passion with the same intensity. God willing this May, I plan to go to Zambia in hopes to build an orphanage and spread the good Word to a poverty struck desperate community in the tribal villages of Zambia. This bible verse really hits home: “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than this” (Mark 12:31). So we must go in hopes to help our neighbors most in need.

To make this May 11-25 trip a possibility our goal is to raise $3,000 each. The $3,000 goal would cover our flights, housing and food expenses over the two-week period in Africa. There will be a group of 17 strong Christians joining us on our escapade, and together, through Him, we really feel like we can make a difference.

Prayer requests:

1. Safe travel to Africa and safe harbor while in the country

2. The ability to raise the funds necessary to make this trip possible

3. To allow the Holy Spirit to shine through us and enable us to have the right words to help save these people

4. Safety while constructing the orphanage and continued health against disease and predators in the region
