Immigration reform?

By Michael Schaffer - Managing editor
Daily Iowegian

CENTERVILLE — The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about immigration and does it need to be reformed?

Depending on who you ask, at any one time there are approximately 11 million undocumented illegal immigrants in the United States. Should they be allowed to stay here? Should they be forced to work toward and apply for citizenship in order to stay in the U.S.?

So, the question this week is, "Do you agree that the approximately 11 million undocumented illegal immigrants in the United States should be allowed to stay here but forced to work toward and apply for citizenship in order to stay in the U.S.?”

Go to the Daily Iowegian website, www.dailyiowegian.com, and scroll down the home page to POLL on the right hand side and cast your vote. Or call the Iowegian office at (641) 856-6336 or email the editor at iowegianeditor@mchsi.com to cast a vote.

Vote on the Question of the Week up until Wednesday, April 3 at 12 p.m. The results will be published in the Thursday, April 4 paper along with a new question.
