In response to ‘Jobs will enhance Centerville’

Daily Iowegian

CENTERVILLE — Dear Editor,

There is no doubt that jobs will enhance Centerville. But, the key to attracting jobs is to enhance Centerville.

How do we do that? It takes people who are willing to share their time, efforts and ideas in a positive and constructive manner. To be clear, no company or corporation of a sizeable means will relocate their workforce and business to a community that appears to be unkempt.

I applaud the effort of those whose intentions and energy are to make this community more attractive. Putting resources behind the high traffic areas is one step to enhancing Centerville.

There are many options for outside businesses to consider as numerous communities throughout Iowa are vying for growth. The efforts by volunteers who are proactive toward making positive change to enhance Centerville’s appeal take risk because they’re putting themselves out there for the good of the community.

It’s a lot easier to complain and criticize without offering solutions. If we want to attract jobs then we need to make Centerville more attractive.
