Mayor, council out of touch

Daily Iowegian

CENTERVILLE — Dear Editor,

I was pleased at the Sept. 17 council meeting where Mayor Senior led the Pledge of Allegiance putting emphasis on "liberty and justice for all."

Even though the most of the response they get from people there and in writing was nobody wanted to pay for the 2012 street improvement of Centerville. We were ignored. It was suggested it be put to a public vote. And this was also ignored.

Why? Because they know it would never pass. There went our "liberty."

What it comes down to is they don't care if you are having trouble keeping a roof over your head or food on the table. You will be responsible to pay what you are told. If you don't have the money to do so, to bad, we will put it on your property taxes, with interest.

So, if you can't pay that, to bad, lose your home. Now tell us what is the justice in that, or maybe it is, "Who gets the justice?"

Maybe it's time for a new mayor and all new council members that are in touch with reality and people's needs.
