Dear Editor,

I am so thankful for the Drake Public Library; it being a wonderful resource for the entire community to utilize. The library offers an extensive inventory of up to date materials including fiction, non-fiction, large print, audio, computers, microfilm, newspapers, magazines, and new selections arriving each week. There is an excellent children’s department with a weekly story time and a summer reading program.

The library is in the process of being remodeled and renovated and it is becoming more and more inviting and attractive both inside and out. It is efficiently run by the capable and hard working director, Jami Livingston and a helpful, friendly, and dedicated staff. It is always a pleasure to visit the Drake Public Library.

The library board is dedicated to maintaining the library as a valuable resource for the community. The board strives to be fiscally responsible with reduced funding and limited resources. The board is to be applauded for their efforts.

The Friends of the Drake Public Library is a very active organization with over 150 members. It raises funds to help with the purchase of new materials and equipment. The Friends are committed to improving and enhancing the library.

Our community is very fortunate to have the Drake Public Library and I want to thank all those who work so hard to support and maintain it. The Drake Public Library is a vital asset to our area which I very much appreciate.
