Dan Ehl is a member of Legion Post 340 of Mystic. He has been suspended from his editor job and we certainly understand that people should not drive after drinking; however, the punishment does seem excessive. Dan served his country during the Vietnam era. He volunteered to join when that choice was not made by all during that time. He received an honorable discharge. We, as legion members, may not support Dan’s opinions but we certainly support his right to express them. We want the publisher and the headquarters of the newspaper chain to know that we support Dan and his editorship. All 15 members present at the May 2 legion meeting wanted to support their fellow member.
