Thanks to local emergency officials

Dear Editor,
Appreciation and thanks are in order for the following entities for their exemplary actions in responding to the explosion and ensuing fire that erupted at the salvage yard in Centerville, April 22, 2008 at 12:22 p.m.
I was called at 12:22 p.m. (and I am sure that there were others, as well), and within three minutes arriving on the scene was Chief Howington, Sheriff Anderson, Fire Department, and ambulance, deputies, officers, supporting services from Wayne County and Mystic Fire and First Responders, and aerial truck (which was instrumental in extinguishing the flame) arrived a short time later.
Thankfully, there were no injuries.
Each of us as citizenry of Centerville and Appanoose County should feel a great deal of pride and assurance in our service personnel and express to them this sentiment!
Thank you!

Kathy Cooprider
