Neighbors helping neighbors

---- — On Thursday, Oct.10 a group of friends and neighbors came together to help one of their own bring his crops in. The group gathered at the farm of Ronnie and Lori White at around 9 a.m. with six combines, two grain carts, a semi and much more equipment to bring in corn and soybeans throughout the day. White is currently undergoing cancer treatments in Chicago.

The group borrowed three picnic tabled from the city of Centerville to help serve lunch with. Preparing the meal were Joyce Pisarik, Vickie Herman, Wilma Kimble, Lori White, Tracy Morris and Jill Morris.

Helping in the field were Richard Pisarik, Joe Morris, Bill Morris, Tim Morris, Bob Morris, Neal Morris, Rick Ballanger, Tom Zaputil, Doug Ballanger, Gary Long, Jason Long, Stanley Spencer, Chris Spencer, Gary Strickler, Jeff Kauzlarich, Kenny Stevens, Carl Zotz, Brayden Zotz, Franny Zotz and Joe Walker.

The group worked throughout the day to clear the 140 acres of crops and finished that evening. The event was organized by Richard Pisarik and the White’s said they were humbled and surprised by the help.

“It’s good to have good friends,” said Ronnie.

The couple said there was no way to express their thanks to the group. They said they know many people throughout the community are struggling with their own challenges and they wanted all credit to go those who had come out to help.

“There is not enough thanks for them,” said Lori.
