Moulton-Udell FFA holds annual awards banquet

The Moulton-Udell FFA Chapter held its annual awards banquet on April 22nd in the Moulton-Udell School small gym. Opening ceremonies were conducted by the 2007-2008 officer team. Awards of appreciation were given to several community members and parents for their contribution to the Moulton-Udell FFA Chapter over the past year. These awards went to Dan and Julie Jay, Lyle and Debbie Hodges, Jerald and Judi Lawson, Marlan and Brenda Korthaus, Dennis and Carol Lawson, Jon Stansberry, Steve Wood and Elmer Wood Company Inc., Jerilyn Inman, Angela Clayworth.
Certificates for participation in Career Development Events were then given to contestants.
Members who received awards for participation in Sub-district CDE’s include: Brettany Sebolt in Freshman Creed Speaking, Mackenzie Clark, Chelsey Harris and Autumn Salladay in the Chapter Quiz, Brandie Lawson, Olivia Smith, and Kelsi Guinn in Chapter Program, Kim Clayworth, Michael Fletcher, Kassi Guinn, Alyson Hoover, Mickie McKinley, Clinton Scott and Rebecca Steen in Conduct of Meetings, and Jody Korthaus in the Job Interview.
Jed Ballanger, Kim Clayworth, Jason DeCook, Michael Fletcher, Kassi Guinn, Alyson Hoover, Mickie McKinley, Clinton Scott, Brettany Sebolt, Rebecca Steen and Shane Stewart received Greenhand Degrees which are awarded to first year members.
Chapter degrees were awarded to Kaleb Brinegar, Mackenzie Clark, Daniel DeCook, Chelsey Harris, Chase Kirby, Cody Korthaus, Dyllan Lawson, Jonathon Mason, Colton Probasco, Karl Ruchti, Autumn Salladay, and Kaylee Stansberry.
Over 75 percent of in school members received an Academic Achievement award for having a GPA above 3.00. Six senior members were recognized for the Academic Achievement by the Iowa FFA Association. Those members were Ethan Brinegar, Holly Dyke, Whitney Harris, Jeff Inman, Jody Korthaus and Tish Stansberry.
The Star Greenhand Award is given to a greenhand member who has shown promise in all areas of agriculture education. This person has also shown strong leadership skills and was an active part of the FFA chapter for the 2007-2008 year. Kassi Guinn was presented with the Star Greenhand plaque.
Ethan Brinegar was awarded the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award. This award recognizes and encourages excellence in three areas: scholarship, leadership and agricultural work experience. Jacob Campbell was the recipient of the Star Chapter Farmer Award. This award is given to a member who has shown leadership throughout their FFA experiences and who has been active in all areas of Agriculture Education. Jody Korthaus and Whitney Harris were recognized with awards for Outstanding Leadership and Tish Stansberry was presented the Outstanding Service Award for their dedication to the Moulton-Udell FFA Chapter.
