Zimmerman, Benz plan August wedding ceremony

CENTERVILLE — Lana and Dave Benz of Marshalltown, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lacey Michele Benz, to Steven David Zimmerman, son of Sheri and Ralph Zimmerman, of Bettendorf.

  Lacey graduated from Iowa State University in 2006 and currently is attending Midwestern University in Glendale, Ariz., seeking a master’s degree in occupational therapy.

 Steve also graduated from Iowa State University and currently works at Marix Servicing, as a Loss Mitigation Asset Analyst.

  The couple plans to move to the Quad Cities after Lacey’s graduation in Summer 2011 so Steve can work at his family’s business, LaClaire Manufacturing.

 Lacey is the granddaughter of Ruth Benz and the late Henry Benz of Centerville.

  Their wedding is planned for Aug. 21, 2010.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about the solicitation ordinance that will prevent groups or individuals from entering a roadway to solicit money. The Centerville City Council in June by a 5-0 vote passed the first reading of just such an ordinance. Public pressure and during a subsequent special meeting, the council voted 3-2 to table the ordinance. A second special meeting to discuss the solicitation ordinance is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at City Hall. So, the question of the week is, "Do you or do you not support the ordinance to prevent solicitation of funds in city streets?"
