OTTUMWA — Seven area residents were awarded Indian Hills Community College scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Brandon Jones was given the IHCC Foundation Mills Family Scholarship and is enrolled in the Laser/Electro-Optics Technology program. Joshua Tuttle is enrolled in the Arts & Sciences program and was awarded the IHCC Foundation Bright Scholars of Iowa Award Scholarship. Taran McCoy is enrolled in the Welding Program at Indian Hills Community College and has received the IHCC Foundation General Fund Scholarship. All three students are 2013 graduates of Centerville High School.
Vincent Whitaker has been awarded the IHCC Foundation Rosenman Scholarship and is enrolled in the Arts & Sciences program. Don Stevens has received the IHCC Foundation Perry Ryan Murry Scholarship. Don is enrolled in the Mechanical Design Technology program on the Centerville campus.
Jeremy and Jesse Stufflebeem both received IHCC Foundation Rosenman Scholarships. Jeremy is enrolled in the Robotics/Automation Technology program while Jesse is enrolled in the Arts & Sciences program at the Centerville Campus. Both are 2013 graduates of Centerville High School.
The Indian Hills Foundation was created with the goal of providing scholarships to help deserving students enhance their lives through college education. Since 1975, more than 16,000 students have been awarded $12.5 million. Last year, 563 students received $1.1 million in scholarships from the Foundation.
