ESTHERVILLE — Iowa Lakes Community College held its Spring Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 11, 2012 on the Estherville campus.

Iowa Lakes Community College offers associate degrees, diplomas and certificates.

Keynote speakers this year included Matt Kuehler and Iowa Sen. John P. (Jack) Kibbie. Kuehler completed his Associate in Science Accounting Specialist degree in December.

Sen. Kibbie, Emmetsburg, also addressed the graduates. He is considered "the Father of Iowa Community College" because in 1965, Senator Kibbie sponsored the bill to create Iowa's Community Colleges.

Iowa Lakes Community College, with accreditation by the North Central Association, Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Board of Nursing and Veterans Administration, has campuses in Emmetsburg, Estherville, Algona, Spencer and Spirit Lake.

Terry Repp, of Moravia, graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Marine Service Technology.
