---- — OTTUMWA — The Indian Hills Community College choral ensembles, under the direction of Dr. Laura Wiebe, will present their Winter Concert at the college’s St. John Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The groups will present a variety of American, English, German and Cuban works during the concert which is free and open to the public.
The concert choir will perform “Cantate Domino” by Hans Leo Hassler, Aaron Copland’s setting of a nineteenth-century American song “Zion’s Walls,” John David’s “You Are the New Day,” the Cuban folk song “Son de Camaguey,” Franz Schubert’s “Der Tanz,” Robert Hogenson’s “Beat! Beat! Drums!” and “Freedom Train” by Rollo Dilworth. The Chamber Singers will sing three jazz pieces: “Blue Skies,” “The Look of Love” and “Java Jive.” Tono Bella will premiere the piece “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” by Laura Wiebe and the men’s ensemble will perform “In the Still of the Night.”
