Aldo Zucco

CENTERVILLE — Aldo Zucco, 76, of Centerville, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2010 at Mercy  Medical Center, Centerville.

Aldo was born Nov. 8, 1934 in Centerville to Joseph and Giaciomina (Cambruzzi) Zucco. He was raised near Sunshine where his father was a coalminer. Aldo graduated from Centerville High School and worked for HyVee for over 48 years.  He served in the Unites States Army during the Korean Conflict. Aldo loved gardening and woodworking and made all the cabinets in his home.

Aldo is survived by two sisters, Gloria Staninger of Centerville and Norma Zucco of Warrenville, Ill., a brother, Joe (Margaret) Zucco of Omaha, Neb.; two nephews, David and Tony Zucco, a niece, Joeth; five great-nieces and nephews, twins, Cassidy and Madison, Chris, Jaime and Dustin; 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Louis Zucco and a niece, Jacklyn Gremling.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Centerville with Fr. Dennis Schaab C.PP. S  officiating.  Friends may call all day Monday at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with the family present from 6-8 p.m.  A Rosary Service will be held 7:30 p.m. at the Lange Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. A memorial has been established to either St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Hospice Room at Mercy Medical Center and may be left at the funeral home. The Iowegian wants readers to think about rental permit fees. The Centerville City Council has conducted two working sessions and a third one is planned in order to get a feel for the public's appetite about raising rental permit fees from charging a landlord $25 every two years to charging a certain amount per rental unit per year. So, the question of the week is, "Are you in favor of Centerville increasing rental permit fees?"
