The Daily Iowegian
---- — Over the past year I have begun to notice something that I find quite unusual, and I just have one question. Where is Dave Loebsack?
Congressman Loebsack has made no efforts over the past couple of years to visit with his constituents in a Townhall setting here in Appanoose County. I’m sure that the people of Appanoose County would be more than happy to welcome him to southern Iowa, and would love to ask a few questions while at. I’m sure that Mr. Loebsack has the time, along with his staff to make the effort for this. After all they do have time to send re-election motivated and driven “newsletters” to papers to print about how hard he is “fighting” or “advocating” for the people of his district in Washington D.C. They also find time to send emails asking for a donation to his re-election campaign at least once a week.
Now, I know that he likes to send his staff out to hold meetings with the public about concerns or questions, but here’s the deal. We elected Dave to be our Congressman, not his hired staff. If Gov. Terry Branstad and U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley can travel and hold Townhall meetings in all 99 Iowa counties at least once a year, than I think Congressman Loebsack can visit Appanoose County along with the other 23 counties in his district.
Come on down Dave! The water's warm, and there is nothing to be afraid of. We’re waiting.
