Pella to buy buildings at Bos Landen

PELLA — The City of Pella is proposing to purchase buildings at the Bos Landen Golf Course for $200,000.

The decision to submit an offer to R&R Management for all the buildings it owns at the course was made following a closed session discussion by the council. The 4-2 vote set the purchase in motion.

At the May 6 regular meeting, following another closed session, the council unanimously approved to accept R&R Management’s addendum to the purchase offer for the five buildings located at the Bos Landen Golf Course.

Bos Landen Golf Course has been for sale since last fall and as of May 6, the ownership situation had yet to be resolved.

As reported previously, the Iowa Golf Association made the decision to move the site for the 2014 IGA Match Play Championships from Bos Landen Golf Course to the Amana Colonies Golf Course in Amana. The dates of both the men’s and women’s championships are still to be June 25-28.

Completed in 1994, Bos Landen went on to rank as Iowa's No. 1 Public Golf Course from 1997 – 2001, and was also ranked in the Top-75 Most Affordable Golf Courses in the United States 1999 - 2000, all according to Golf Digest.
