OTTUMWA — Police have confirmed three students were arrested at Evans Middle School on Wednesday. More may face school sanctions.
Superintendent Davis Eidhal said one or two students brought an “illegal substance” to school and began passing some out to fellow students. Eidahl said six to eight may have been involved.
At school, they could face consequences ranging from suspension to expulsion. Eidahl said possession of drugs will not be tolerated. The district is already making arrangements to meet with each student and their parents.
The names of those arrested have not yet been released.
