Tax credit law for EMS and volunteer firefighters goes into effect in 2013

CENTERVILLE — Iowa’s volunteer fire fighters and emergency medical services personnel can claim a $50 annual tax credit beginning in 2013 in recognition of the valuable services they provide to the people of Iowa.  On Friday, April 27, Gov. Branstad signed Senate File 2322 into law, after it was approved by a vote of 50-0 in the Iowa Senate and 96-1 in the Iowa House. On hand for the bill signing were legislators and along with emergency personnel from around the state were Sen. Jeff Danielson, Sen. Bill Dotzler and Sen. Tom Hancock.
